About Tsai-Tsai

Tsai-Tsai was a vision created with luxury lifestyle travel in mind to allow us to share our experiences, explorations and discoveries over the 30 years we have been in the Vilanculos area, making these special places and experiences accessible to those from near and far with the portfolio we have put together.

Our villas and suites are high end specification builds by Hooper and Louw Construction, finished beautifully, stylishly and to an incredibly high standard. See H&L’s past portfolio of villas, lodges and homes at www.hooper-and-louw.com. Our boats are available for an enhanced stay, lovingly refurbished and maintained to a high standard with professional, friendly and experienced crew to take you out into one of the most beautiful seascapes on the East African coastline.

Tsai Tsai means firefly in Xitswa, the local language (pronounced Ts-aye Ts-aye/Tsy Tsy) and the firefly was the inspiration for our name and logo. Fireflies can be seen in abundance during certain months on the inland rivers and wetlands of the surrounding Mozambican coastal plains. At Tsai-Tsai you will be continuously surrounded by the wonders of the natural world.

TSAI TSAI Mozambique

Your stay at Tsai-Tsai contributes to the important work of Likhulu. Likhulu is a Maputo-based Non Profit Organisation, dedicated to enhancing marine conservation effectiveness in Mozambique.

Likhulu serves to meet Mozambique’s marine conservation needs, and here in Vilankulo, the need is to enhance resilience of marine and coastal ecosystems and the communities that that rely on them.

Likhulu also supports the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park in their efforts to develop diversified livelihoods for the resident island communities so that their reliance on the island’s surrounding marine life is reduced. Beyond Vilankulo & The Bazaruto Archipelago, Likhulu is providing integrated management and climate-smart support to established and emerging Marine Protected Areas, and by developing future conservation leaders through professional training and mentorship.

We thank you for your valued support! To find out more, visit www.likhulu.org.mz or email karen@likhulu.org.mz
